Remote community served by pastoral ministry in Southwest Cameroon
Why This Ministry Matters

Priests are often the closest source of hope for remote communities.

In many villages and mission stations across the Diocese of Kumba, priests serve communities facing limited infrastructure, economic hardship, difficult travel routes, and a shortage of essential services.

Their work is both spiritual and practical. They celebrate the sacraments, visit the sick, guide families, encourage young people, and stand with communities through hardship.

Impact from the Field

When priests are equipped to serve, communities are strengthened.

Many priests in rural areas are expected to serve several small villages and mission stations. Their ministry requires courage, mobility, sacrifice, and practical support.

By supporting priests, MAF helps sustain evangelization and strengthens the Church’s presence in communities that depend on both spiritual guidance and social support.
